Our Story

Our story started in 2016 in Columbus Ohio. Founding member Brien Neal then working as a leader for a fortune 10 health insurance company was looking for a fresh opportunity to help people. He stumbled on information that described that 80 million people would be over 65 by 2030 and he became intrigued. He thought about his mother who was 65 years of age at the time. She was not only the primary caretaker of his grandmother but was also legally blind. Brien has often spoken about his mother as a true hero. All while she was taking care of her mother, she was also completing a PhD.

 

Brien immersed himself in to learning about seniors and how to help them age in place by attending the University of Southern California and getting an Executive Certification on home modification from the School of Gerontology. From that point 3rd Act Renovations LLC was born. Fast forward to 2021 during a pandemic Brien lost seven family members in one year including his grandmother in which his mom was caretaker. The pandemic forced many people to revisit their passions and ambitions. At the time Brien was a director at a major hospital system buy was not the exception. A calling for a higher purpose was felt heavily in his heart.

 

In the early spring of 2021, Brien launched 3rd Act Medical Alerts and decided to focus on providing customers and patients personal one-on-one services, state-of-the-art products, and unparalleled customer service. 3rd Act Medical Alerts has one goal, which is to help people stay safe. People tend to think of medical alerts as a tool for just the aging population and for folks with disabilities and/or chronic illnesses. At 3rd Act our medical alerts are also used to support people of all ages including those that suffer from anxiety and young adults that are on the autism spectrum. We want to be the resource for those that find themselves in a crisis and need someone to be there for them at that moment.
